It's Right There, Ted

Or Can Anyone Really Say What Time It Is?

Functional art from recycled materials is the mainstay of the Gallery Store and the Gallery Of Functional Art. I realize we can't solve all thee worlds environmental problems with recycled art but every litter bit helps.

Of course the lousy pun was intentional.

Quiet! Can't you see I'm busy reading recycled poetry? What? You thought I was giving up on poetry?

And the problem is:

And the answer was...

Tooth Fairy Offers Green Banking?

Or Give 'Em An Inch And We All Get The Shaft

You win some: "This summer, after months of conversations, some top executives from Bank of America agreed to accompany NRDC staff on a fact-finding trip to Appalachia. In July we flew them over moonscaped mine sites in West Virginia, took them to Kayford Mountain for a closer look at mountaintop mining, and introduced them to several local residents/activists who are fighting to save their beloved homeland from reckless coal mining companies." You loose some: "It’s not clear to me why Bush (and the GOP in general) have such a grudge against the environment. I suppose it’s part of their overall philosophy that big business should be allowed to do whatever it wants because nothing bad will ever happen—the Free-Market Fairy will keep everything right. Only, of course, the Free-Market Fairy, like the Tooth Fairy, is just a story." Continue reading.

Going Green Economics 101

Or If They Only Knew What We Know

What is Financial Permaculture and would you eat it? More importantly, would you know it if it ate you?

"Green Recovery: A Program to Create Good Jobs and Start Building a Low-Carbon Economy" describes a green recovery program that could lay the foundation for sustainable economic growth while boosting the country's energy security. The program calls for a $100 billion worth of tax credits, government spending and federal loan guarantees to cut unemployment and spur growth in six cleantech and efficiency areas."

The Green Mystery Tour: Part 1

Or, RecycleBill Would Rather Link To Your Photos Than Steal Them.

I guess you can say RecycleBill is old school. As a published author I take copyrights very seriously and while it has become common place in the Blogosphere to simply hot link or steal the photos of others to post to your own blogs, RecycleBill refuses to commit copyright infringement. Therefore, I simply link to each picture with a bit of commentary in the hopes that all who read will understand my position.

To take the tour simply read along, click on each link and return to this post to see the next. Sorry, we cannot br responsible for persons who leave the marked trail and venture out on their own.

Beautiful but oh so dreadful too.

Sometimes there is beauty where there is no green. (Sorry, some computers won't display this link.)

What will become of places like this?

Will this be all we leave behind? To be continued.

RecycleBills: Some Dreams Are Just Bigger

Without a doubt there are people reading tonight and wondering why I've decided to give up almost eight years of being Billy The Blogging Poet and reinvent myself as RecycleBill. And while I'll be happy to tell you someday... well let's just say that this is the most excited I've ever been in my life. Yes, even more exciting than becoming a published author.

And no, it's not about selling books by Billy, running for Mayor of Greensboro or anything like that. And even though I will be the public face you all come to know, RecycleBills.com is not about me.

You see, my biggest lifelong dream has been to figure out how to leave this world a better place than when I found it. And I've finally figured out how. The new business that goes with this blog will be good for the environment, good for the economy, good for consumers and good for small business with zero costs to any of them.

Now you know why, soon you'll know what.
